Yachts for Sale

Welcome to Yachts for Sale, we aim to deliver all the neccesary information for you to maximise your Yacht purchase and enjoyment.

Yachts are considered high end, recreational boats that are split off into two distinct kinds: sailing and powered boats. They may have one or more hulls, which is the lower portion of the yacht that supports the upper half of the yacht once it is partially submerged in the water. There is also the keel, located underneath the hull that counterbalances the vessel when it catches wind in its sails.

Sailing yachts can range in LOA (length over all) from 20 feet to over 100 feet. Their main source of mobility stems from the force of the wind hitting the sails. These yachts are considered both economical and environmentally friendly. Sailing yachts are further divided into four types:

  1. Day Sailing Yachts or Dinghies as they are sometimes called, are the smallest of the four with an average length no longer than 20 feet. These yachts are constructed for day-to-day usage as opposed to overnight excursions, and they do not have the usual cabin storage, but instead have cubbies, which is just a raised hull.
  2. Weekender Yachts are a bit larger than the Day Sailing Yachts averaging out to 30 feet in length. These yachts are constructed for short overnight jaunts that last no longer than two or three days, and they have a basic cabin large enough for two to three people. Smaller versions of the Weekender are called Pocket Yachts, Pocket Cruisers, or Trailer Sailers.
  3. Cruising yachts, considered the most commonly used of the four yachts, can range anywhere between 25 to 45 feet in length. These yachts have a more complex design and are constructed for long journeys. They have many cabins below the deck along with a saloon, galley, seating area, navigational equipment and a “head,” which consists of a toilet and a shower room.
  4. Luxury Sailing Yachts are typically 82 feet or longer, with a 130 foot plus yacht being the biggest of them all. These yachts are constructed for endless voyages and come equipped with every modern convenience possible, as well as being highly automated.

Motorized yachts are not much different than their counterpart, the sailing yacht, aside from the obvious being that their main source of mobility stems from internal combustion engines that burn diesel fuel. These yachts are considered more expensive to operate and a lot less environmentally friendly, although a biodiesel fuel is in the experimental stage.

Motorized yachts are further divided into five types, which have some of the same basic amenities as its counterpart: there is the (1) Day Cruiser yacht, (2) Weekender yacht, (3) Cruising yacht, (4) Sport Fishing yacht and (5) Luxury yacht.
